Tuning options actually depend on what version of Evo you have but for most cars the following guide is typical:
For modified road cars we use twin plate clutch’s with the std hydraulic slave unit and pedal, but for track and race cars we use our own developed 7 ¼” twin plate cerametalic clutch with lightweight steel flywheel and a hydraulic centre push mounted inside the gearbox bellhousing.
Depending on rear diff type fitted as std, we usually replace the weaker aluminum active rear diff with a plated LSD from an RS model suitable for your car.
For front and centre diff’s there are many options depending on model of Evo and type of usage. These vary from using a Kaaz front and centre diff’s, to a Cusco front diff with modified viscous centre diff. Other options for Evo 7 – 9 include a Wavetrac front diff which is a torque biasing unit with an active centre diff (ACD) with a Motec MDC controller. These units are not a direct fit in earlier Evo’s as the diff casings are a different size.
For racing applications 5 speed dog engagement gearsets are available in a variety of gear ratio’s as well as a 5 speed sequential Quaife full gearbox option.
