Norris Motorsport was founded by Karl Norris who is a professional engineer, having started his career as an engine designer for Jaguar Cars after graduating from Warwick University in Mechanical Engineering. Originally based in Coventry we relocated to Derby in 2005 and expanded our facilities and staff.
We became well known for our engine tuning abilities, being specialists in the Cosworth YB powered cars. Whilst we still cater for these engines today, we have expanded the range of engines we modify to include the Mitsubishi 4G63, Vauxhall C20 and Z20, and many other Ford powerplants such as the BDA, Lotus Twin cam, Pinto, CVH, Zetec, and Duratec.
We are renowned for our engine mapping abilities, the YB cosworth engine being our most specialised engine and our abilities for mapping the original Weber Marelli ecu, but we cater for many after market ecu’s including AEM, Omex, Autronic, DTA, Emerald, and Motec, to name just a few.
We specialise in building high performance engines and porting cylinder heads with all the machining work and engine builds done in house. We offer large valve conversions to many cylinder heads including the fitment of oversized valve seat inserts and repair services for cylinder heads that need welding. We have our own range of camshaft profiles for our most specialised engines along with custom steel crankshafts and con-rods designed by ourselves and manufactured by Farndon Engineering.
We have extensive on site fabrication and machining facilities meaning we can cater for a wide range of products. We fabricate our own range of aluminium products including custom inlet manifolds, swirl pots, breather systems, fuel tanks and heat shields which can all be provided painted in a durable 2-pack colour of your choice in our Dalby low bake oven. We fabricate many parts in steel and stainless, from custom roll cages, to adjustable rose jointed suspension arms, exhausts, hard boost hoses as well as any shell modifications from custom gearbox tunnel’s, fitting multi-link suspension, modified suspension locations and eccentric top mounts, to alternative gearbox mounts for transplanted gearboxes, custom drive shafts, the list really is endless!
